Illinois Valley Economic Development Corp. (IVEDC) is looking to hire a full-time Family & Community Development Specialist. This position will be working in two separate locations with days split between our Jerseyville and Carrollton offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Will assist individuals in becoming more self-sufficient and will act as an advocate for the low-income within the community.
  • Will be responsible for recruitment and/or completion of applications for various agency-operated programs and case management.

Requirements:

  • Prefer a Bachelor Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Experience in case management also preferred.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

Illinois Valley is in need of hiring a full-time female shift supervisor for the Coalfield Rest Area off of I-55. This position does require transporting client workers from Gillespie, IL to the rest area. Transporting clients will take place in a company vehicle. The shift will be 1:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Some weekend and holiday shifts will be required.)

Responsibilities:

  • Will be a working supervisor performing duties necessary to maintain grounds and building including the supervision and coordination of workers activities.
  • Assign tasks to workers and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Train new workers, record hours worked, and perform personnel duties as required.
  • Be familiar with all safety procedures and policies and instruct employees in safe work habits.
  • Transport workers from Gillespie, or other specified pick up point to worksite.
  • Keep all storage areas clean and orderly, posting designated areas for supplies.
  • Perform minor and routine maintenance on buildings and equipment, and notify immediate supervisor concerning need for major repairs.
  • Responsible for mowing and trimming, using tractors, power mowers, and weed trimmers in all designated areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Experience in janitorial and building maintenance and use, and maintenance of commercial grounds equipment preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of basic managerial skills such as organizing, planning and supervising staff/operations.
  • Willing to work day or evening shift, holidays, and weekends.
  • A neat and clean appearance is required.
  • Ability to work with and supervise persons with disabilities.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Good driving record for past three (3) years.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check.

Illinois Valley is looking to hire an Educational Assistant for their Benld Head Start School.

Responsibilities:

  • Will provide assistance in the Head Start classroom to children ages 3-5 years old.
  • Will work collaboratively with the classroom team to achieve positive outcomes for every child.
  • Will support children’s development with patience and respect.
  • Will assist the teacher with preparing materials and supplies.
  • Attend and assist with family events.

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood work experience preferred.

Illinois Valley Community Day Services is seeking an immediate hire for a part-time DSP/Driver to work at either our Jerseyville location or our temporary Otterville location. Illinois Valley is in the process of building a new Jerseyville CDS facility to hopefully be completed in 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Will supervise, teach, and support individuals with developmental disabilities (18 years and older) utilizing individualized plans at our day training center.
  • May drive program participants on a regular or as needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • DSP certification is preferred, will train the right individual.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

This program offers adults with disabilities the opportunity to earn income through our cardboard recycling program in Jerseyville. The primary function of the Recycling Supervisor is to ensure that cardboard is processed on a daily basis. Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for daily cardboard pick-up from local businesses.
  • Will oversee cardboard baling and arrange shipping to mill.
  • Will maintain shop equipment and program vehicles.
  • Will support other work programs with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Will maintain work program contracts.

Qualifications:

  • DSP certification is preferred, but not required. We will train the right individual.
  • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Experience in the maintenance/inspections of agency vehicles/equipment.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Possess a high school diploma/GED.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug test.
