Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation is looking to hire a part-time meal delivery driver. This position will be based out of our Benld Senior Center working 4 hours per day Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Obtain the daily meal delivery list from staff at the meal site and deliver those meals using an agency vehicle.
- Accept and document donations from participants and turn in all donations on a daily basis.
- Help staff load individual filled trays (hot and cold) into coolers for home delivery.
- Attend nutrition staff meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of program participants and agency information.
Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to drive. Maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license and sufficient insurance coverage.

Illinois Valley Economic Development Corporation is looking to hire a full-time Health & Nutrition Coordinator. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing the delivery of comprehensive child health and nutrition services to children enrolled in the Head Start program.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and arrange required health services (physical exams, dental exams, vision/hearing screenings, immunizations, etc.) for Head Start children
- Compile health information
- Maintain records of all health services provided
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff, classroom personnel, volunteers, and parents
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- Make home visits to families to discuss health problems
- Organize and lead the Health Services Advisory Committee
- Conduct on-site visits to Head Start Centers and Home-based programs
- Develop menus for all Head Start children
- Provide training for cooks
- Assist with recruitment and enrollment
- May substitute in various capacities at Head Start facilities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree with health-related experience, LPN or RN
- Experience working with children
- Excellent computer skills
- Must have or be willing to attend training in order to obtain certification as a First Aid/CPR instructor and as a state-certified vision and hearing technician
- Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Must be willing to travel within the local area
- Must be willing and able to successfully pass a background check

To be an ideal candidate for the human resources assistant position, you should have some experience or background in onboarding new staff. Ultimately, you’ll assist in ensuring the HR department is organized and operates smoothly to attract, hire, and retain employees.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Process new hire applications and paperwork
- Process documentation and prepare reports related to personnel activities

Skills

Illinois Valley is in need of hiring a full-time shift supervisor for the Coalfield Rest Area off of I-55. This position also requires transporting client workers from Gillespie, IL to the rest area. Transporting clients will take place in a company vehicle. The shift will be 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. Some weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Will be a working supervisor performing duties necessary to maintain grounds and building including the supervision and coordination of workers activities.
- Assign tasks to workers and inspect completed work for conformance to standards.
- Train new workers, record hours worked, and perform personnel duties as required.
- Be familiar with all safety procedures and policies and instruct employees in safe work habits.
- Transport workers from Gillespie, or other specified pick up point to worksite.
- Keep all storage areas clean and orderly, posting designated areas for supplies.
- Perform minor and routine maintenance on buildings and equipment, and notify immediate supervisor concerning need for major repairs.
- Responsible for mowing and trimming, using tractors, power mowers, and weed trimmers in all designated areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Experience in janitorial and building maintenance and use, and maintenance of commercial grounds equipment preferred.
- Requires knowledge of basic managerial skills such as organizing, planning and supervising staff/operations.

- Will assist the Site Supervisor, as needed, in the overall management and supervision of the Gillespie CDS Program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or Recreation (or other degree approved by DHS).
- One year experience supporting or interacting with persons with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to relate, communicate and work well with individuals with disabilities.
- QIDP certification and previous experience with supervision is required.
