This position will assist/lead teaching staff in the implementation of the goals and objectives of the education program, develop curriculum, and function as a resource for staff and families. Will provide staff development, training, and evaluation. Assist in coordinating programmatic areas including health, disabilities, social services, and parent involvement. This position will be based out of our Gillespie Administrative Office but will travel to Head Start locations within the local area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related degree

Where You’ll Work:

Work location will vary dependent on need. Will be based at the Gillespie administration building. Will use company vehicle for traveling to centers.

Strong likelihood of transitioning to permanent placement within a center if desired.

Your Responsibilities:

Will substitute in Head Start Centers in the capacity of a site director, teacher, teacher aide, bus driver/monitor, or other position for which qualified and will fulfill all duties of the position assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be site director/teacher qualified in accord with Head Start and Dept. of Child and Family Services guidelines.

This will be an as needed floating position for multiple locations including Carlinville and Benld. The Cook will prepare meals for both congregate and home delivered meals. Must be able to maintain proper safety and sanitary conditions in all areas of food handling, sanitation, and service areas. Duties include: cook, prepare, and serve meals; package food, clean dining area and kitchen, maintain confidentiality, and other duties as assigned.

Illinois Valley is in need of hiring a Site Supervisor for the Coalfield Rest Area off of I-55. This position also requires transporting client workers from Gillespie, IL to the rest area. Transporting clients will take place in a company vehicle.

  • The shift is from 6:00 am-2:00 pm and is full-time.
  • Some weekend and holiday shifts will be required.

Responsibilities:

Will be a working supervisor performing duties necessary to maintain grounds and building including the supervision and coordination of workers activities. Assign tasks to workers and inspect completed work for conformance to standards. Trains new workers, records hours worked, and performs personnel duties as required. Be familiar with all safety procedures and policies and instruct employees in safe work habits. Transport workers from Gillespie, or other specified pick up point to worksite. Keep all storage areas clean and orderly, posting designated areas for supplies. Perform minor and routine maintenance on buildings and equipment, and notify immediate supervisor concerning need for major repairs. Responsible for mowing and trimming, using tractors, power mowers, and weed trimmers in all designated areas. Other duties as assigned.

  • Assist households with budget counseling, energy efficiency education, arranging deferred or budget payments with energy providers.
  • Will assist with answering phones, scheduling appointments and completing applications.
  • Will notify clients and utility companies as to the eligibility of the client and assist clients with getting their energy restored.
  • Will attend events throughout the four county service area to provide energy efficiency material to residents.
  • Assist with social media to provide energy efficiency tips.
  • Compose news releases and other forms of marketing to promote the energy programs.
  • Interact with clients in a positive and professional manner.
  • Refer clients for additional assistance, whether energy related or not, to other service providers in the area.
  • Will travel to locations throughout the agency’s service area in an agency vehicle.
