Two (2) Head Start and one (1) Early Head Start Family and Community Development Specialists Calhoun/Greene/Jersey – Carlinville/North Macoupin – Gillespie (All full-time, year round) – Will work directly with families to assist them in a variety of ways with the goal of self-sufficiency. Will actively recruit for Head Start enrollment. Assist with child health services by working with parents to assure completion of screenings and services, arranging appointments, and transporting children and parents to health services. Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field within eighteen months of hire.
Two (2) Head Start Site Directors – Benld and White Hall (Full-time during school year) – Will provide comprehensive oversight of the Head Start site, ensuring safe and smooth day-to-day operations. Work collaboratively with staff to provide a program that complies with Head Start Performance Standards and DCFS licensing standards. Will provide positive interaction with parents and community. Will substitute in any capacity when needed. Associate or bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education preferred. Other degrees are acceptable if they include 21 hours in early childhood related classes. Previous supervisory experience desired.
Teacher – Benld (Full-time during school year) – Teach children ages 3-5 with structured activities in a classroom setting at our Head Start facility. The Head Start teacher will plan and prepare lesson plans and activities that contribute to children’s growth and development and will assess children on an ongoing basis utilizing approved assessment tools. Will also interact with parents. Associate or bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood education. Other degrees are acceptable if they include 21 hours in early childhood related classes.
