 IVEDC is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of:



Educational Assistant/Bus Monitor (Benld & Carlinville, IL) – Will provide educational assistance in the classroom to children. Facilitate daily classroom functioning by monitoring activities. Help maintain records by recording daily observations and maintain compliance with procedures and timelines. Assist as a bus monitor in the transportation of children to and from classes and field trips. Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate. Willingness to obtain a school bus driver’s permit. (Full-time)


Teacher Aide/Bus Driver (Brighton & Virden, IL) – Will work in the Head Start classroom with children ages 3-5. Will primarily assist the teacher with classroom learning activities and attend to the children’s needs. This individual will also serve as bus driver to transport children to and from the center on a daily basis and for various outings. Background in Early Childhood Development or as a Child Development Assistant preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age and should possess an Illinois School Bus Driver Permit or be willing to obtain one if hired. (Full-time)


Personal Support Worker (Kane, IL) – The PSW (Personal Support Worker) will work with a female with developmental disabilities and dementia in her home, assisting with daily living activities, such as cooking, cleaning, personal care, and toileting. Will provide supervision and companionship. Monday through Friday. (Part-time)


Cook (Otterville, IL) – Will prepare meals for Head Start Program, which serves children ages 3-5. Duties include: Cooking, creating menus, ordering food, cleaning, etc.  Food Handler certification is preferred or willingness to obtain if hired. (Full-time)


Substitute Teacher/Program Assistant (Gillespie, IL) – Will substitute in Head Start Centers in the capacity of a teacher, teacher, aide, bus driver/monitor, or other position for which qualified and will fulfill all duties of the position assigned. Must have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in child development or early childhood OR a related degree with at least 21 semester hours in early childhood courses. (Full-time)


Teacher Aide (Hardin, IL) – Will assist the teacher with classroom learning activities. Will plan and assist in preparing materials and supplies and will assist with compiling and maintaining health, growth, and developmental progress reports on children. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education OR a child development associate (CDA) credential, OR be enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within two years of hire. (Full-time)


In-Home Care Aides (Macoupin County) – Will assist senior citizens in their homes with household chores, meals, errands, and other daily living activities. We will work around your schedule! GENEROUS MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT! $11.00/hour. Must have reliable transportation and high school diploma/GED. (Part-time)
